Puerto Vallarta 2/22/16

Monday was our first day at the Lindo Mar beach. We love this little spot. In the morning the surf comes all the way up to the retaining wall. We played some cards and waited for the beach to appear, got a palapa and loungers and proceeded to hang out all day. The water is not as warm as it was in November and the surf was extremely rough. Very relaxing afternoon.
This evening we went to one of the most beautiful restaurants in Puerto Vallarta ~ Casa Kimberly. This restaurant/B&B is actually the old homes of Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. He bought two homes across a little street from one another and had a bridge built between the two homes for easy access. It is called Lovers' Bridge.

Liz's house was basically gutted and a gorgeous Italian type villa was created. It serves as a lovely setting for wonderful dining. And the biggest draw, for us, is the amazing 15 piece mariachi band, La Jolla de Mexico. They are really something and I never tire of hearing them play.

Beautiful open air seating.

Tonight we visited the Iguana Bar for a glass of wine and we were able to have a great seat for the first set. What a show. I already want to go back again.

After the music, we walked a few blocks over in Gringo Gulch to El Patio de Mi Casa, a sweet little spot with a creative design. They have sofas and floor lamps around for you ~ feels like you are in a home, but it is mostly open air.
Open air with neat trees.
Look how cleverly my leftovers were wrapped!
We walked down to the beach and then south on the Malecon. Had to stop for a crepe on the bridge over the Cuale River.
