Puerto Vallarta 2/20/16

Lucky us. An extra Puerto Vallarta trip. We usually only travel to PV for Cherry Creek school district's Fall Break. Still do even though we have been retired for nine years. Old habits die hard, although we now  like to stay 3 - 4 weeks in PV instead of the teachers' Fall Break of one week. So, here we are in high season.
As we were flying into town, we could see the gorgeous Primavera trees in full bloom. They are all over town with their brilliant yellow flowers.

We checked into our long time favorite spot, Lindo Mar ~ Beautiful Sea. Every room has a full ocean front view with the sound of the surf on the rocks lulling you to sleep ~ even in the daytime ~ naps happen here!

The  trumpet vines are also in bloom in February.

For dinner we headed to Old Town and Langostinos for a toes in the sand dinner. Rick has his standard coconut shrimp (He was denied for so many years with his shellfish allergy that now he can't get enough shrimp.) I had the huachinango ~ a crispy whole red snapper.

We had a nice view of the"new" Los Metros Beach pier. Have never been a fan, but it is growing on me. We enjoyed watching the changing colors and there is plenty of room for people to gather.

After dinner we took a stroll north to Vista del Sol, where we also stay and toured the neighborhood. Very busy! Casa Fantasia looks real nice. Will have to try it. We have been walking past that red brick wall for years and years. Now they have a cute little restaurant in the courtyard.

We ended up at Cafe Bohemia to say hello to Sol (the owner), Chris (his partner) and Skinny Dude (the very fun waiter). Sol introduced us to his friend, Sophie. We had the special drink of the day ~ strawberry margs. Yummy!
