Road Trip ~ Avila Beach ~ San Luis Obispo

San Luis Bay Resort ~ So nice!
From the resort we found the Bob Jones Bike Trail that goes from Sea to City (San Luis Obispo).

On a warm day we headed to the beach below the hotel. It was so windy that we were were covered with sand. I felt like a sugar donut.

We love our little studio at San Luis Bay Resort at Avila Beach. What a great place! The studio is really big ~ much larger than we expected. We have a view of the ocean, but it is a bit cold for beach time in the water here.

We golfed 18 holes at Avila Beach Resort Golf Course. Luckily, we were teamed up with two locals that gave us tips on each hole. It was a difficult course, but we had a great time.

Ruth has been online friends with Jean (Jaybee) from her timeshare website, TUG ~ Timeshare Users Group. It turned out that Jean and Phil were vacationing in Morro Bay when Ruth and Rick were in Avila Beach this summer. We met in Morro Bay and joined them for lunch at the Hoffbrau House for wonderful French Dip sandwiches. Phil gave us a tour of the town, as they lived in beautiful home a block from the ocean several years ago.
At Sea Pines Golf Course we played 9 holes, which felt like Disney Land after Avila. It was a very short Executive course.

We went to a wine tasting in town and loved the little winery. Joined their Wine Club, so we will be enjoying some California wines throughout the year.
