Today we went in search of glasses frames for Ruth, whose glasses broke the day before. Tripadvisor, our Puerto Vallarta guide, gave us some options. At one the frames were muy caro and at another the lenses did not fit real well. So, Ruth is waiting for her return to Colorado and her vision insurance to get new frames. Luckily, she still has her prescription sunglasses for the rest of the trip.

After our walk around town, we returned to Vista del Sol to relax, but the pool area is still closed for resurfacing. So, what could we do?...we took a nap!

Serranos right on our corner was our dinner destination tonight. It was okay, but not wonderful. We took a stroll to Sol's El Bohemio and made a reservation for Halloween. We think tonight was Sol's opening night for the season. Love that place!

We finished the night with a Kahlua and cream at Sea Monkey. Ruth got to practice her Spanish with Miriam, the wife of one of the Sea Monkey waiters. Ella es muy simpatica! Y tambien, Rafael gave us 4 eggs gratis so that we can have huevos con res manana por el almuerzo. Three days ago we gave him our old camera and a case, so this was nice of him to do this. Quiero Puerto Vallarta!

Ruth began the day with a massage that was purchased on Cupocity ~ A Mexican version of Groupon. Today was a very lazy day spent reading. Ruth finished The Aviator's Wife by Melanie Benjamin. This is a very well written story about Anne Morrow Lindbergh, the wife of Charles Lindbergh. I hated to come to the end of this book. Like my mom, I will read Gift From The Sea by Anne Morrow Lindbergh. But, first I need to read Before I Go To Sleep by S. J. Watson since it is our next bookclub book.

Tonight ~ leftovers for dinner and then the Broncos vs Chargers football game.

This morning we spotted our friendly "Muffin Man" Jose down below our condo. We brought him a bucket hat this year. It was fun to give him his regalo (present). I think he likes his blue Cubs bucket hat best, though.

 Success at last! We did a little grocery shopping at Mega and I found a decent mask for $15.00. When we looked at Walmart a set of throw away fins and a poor mask cost $100.00. Unreal!

It is cloudy today and nice and cool. We will have dinner at the Blue Shrimp a block away. There are so many great restaurants here, it is always hard to choose.Success at last! Ruth's friend Vicki's daughter will be getting married in Puerto Vallarta next year at Villa Verano, which overlooks the southern end of Los Muertos Beach. We took a cab to check it out for Vicki. Three cab drivers did not know where Villa Verano was located, but our cabbie kept asking along the way and we found it. Wow! What a compound. The property can sleep 46 people. There are three chefs, bartenders and maids that take in your laundry daily to wash and iron for you. This is a really special place. We loved our tour given by Jose. At the end, we exited through a funky little door right onto Los Muertos Beach!

We walked Los Muertos Beach to its southern end. Lots of activity with shovels and picks trying to divert the water that streams down from the city streets. There are huge chasms dug into the sand as the water makes its way to the sea. The workers are trying to restore their restaurant beach areas. Hard to compete with Mother Nature!

Our friends from Lindo Mar, Steve and Janna, came by for a drink before going to dinner at a new restaurant to us, called Gaby's. Steve and I actually met on TUG2.net, a website for timeshare owners. We met in person a few years ago at Lindo Mar Resort. Steve and Janna are staying there now. We will be there in two weeks.

Gaby's had some wonderful food. Ruth had the Molcajete, which is a steaming lava bowl of shrimp, chicken, beef and vegies in a delicious broth. Excellent! Rick had his usual coconut shrimp. He is so glad that his allergy to shrimp has disappeared. One interesting thing at Gaby's was the slideshow about Puerto Vallarta that as projected on the building next door. Quite original!

We finished the evening with flaming coffee at La Palapa. Great night with our friends!

Today we took it easy at the Vista del Sol pool. From the rooftop, you can see past the city of Puerto Vallarta deep in to the mountainous jungle. After our relaxing day, we took up the arduous task of watching Peyton Manning break Brett Favre's career touchdown record ~ 509. Peyton even cracked a smile. Go Broncos!
